By using a high-pressure gas to help fill the mold cavity with plastic, this molding process allows for greater stability in the finished product, improved part appearance and quality, decreased production time, design flexibility and the elimination of internal part stresses. Gas assist not only saves molding time and material, but it also allows for thicker wall sections without sink marks, reduces part weight and eliminates secondary operations.
